This training is for staff who are (or will be) responsible for conducting moving and handling competency assessments.

***This course replaces the two-day Facilitator Induction training*** As there is a maximum of four delegates, the time required for this training is one day.

Delegates must have already attended moving and handling training (either scheduled or bespoke) with Borough of Poole before attending this course.

The aims of this course:
To ensure that delegates have appropriate competence in the safe moving and handling of people
To ensure that delegates who validate workplace moving and handling activities of care employees become proficient in basic observation and assessment techniques
To ensure that delegates are able to communicate effectively, deliver constructive feedback and produce appropriate action plans
This training must be refreshed every 12 months.

NOTE FOR MANAGERS: Please book a place for your member of staff via CPD Online as usual. You will be contacted to arrange a time for the delegate to attend a pre-training basic moving and handling skills check with one of our L&D trainers. This check will take approximately one hour and will be held at your workplace. (If it is impossible to conduct the check at your workplace, we can make alternative arrangements.) If the trainer is satisfied that the delegate is an appropriate candidate, the booking on CPD Online will be confirmed.

Within two months of this training, the delegate must undertake a post-training observation session at their workplace. One of our trainers will observe the delegate carrying out a basic competency assessment on a colleague during moving and handling activity. This will take approximately one hour. If this observation is completed satisfactorily, the delegate will receive their certificate.

If your organisation's terms of payment require a purchase order, please enter the PO number in the box marked ‘Special requirements' when making your booking.
We will charge a full course fee for any booked delegate who gives less than seven calendar days' notice of a cancellation, or who does not attend on the day of the course.
