The pedestrian entrance is accessed via Sandbanks Road (opposite a blue and white house) and is signposted 'Learning and Development' (no delegate parking available)

Event Description ***This course replaces Facilitator Refresher training***

This is a one-day course for staff who have already attended Facilitator Induction/Facilitator Refresher or Competency and Observation training.

The aims of this course:
To ensure that delegates have appropriate competence in the safe moving and handling of people
To ensure that delegates who validate workplace moving and handling activities of care employees become proficient in basic observation and assessment techniques
To ensure that delegates are able to communicate effectively, deliver constructive feedback and produce appropriate action plans
This training must be refreshed every 12 months.

We will charge a full course fee for any booked delegate who gives less than seven calendar days' notice of a cancellation, or who does not attend on the day of the course. 
Event Outcomes By the end of the session participants will be able to:

Describe the principles of safe moving and handling in the context of key legislation
Explain the basic principles of risk assessment
Identify the factors that can lead to injury from manual handling
Demonstrate good moving and handling technique in different scenarios, including complex situations
Assess the competency of employees and validate their practice in the workplace using relevant assessment paperwork
Demonstrate effective communication and constructive feedback 
Course Cost £ 40 
Event Charges Notes The course fee for non-Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole (BCP) staff is £40 per delegate. The course is subsidised for staff in BCP Adult Social Care - Services, and Commissioning and Improvement - People Services. The course fee for other BCP service units is £40 per delegate.
